THE WINNING PHOTOGRAPHS in the 2024 competition

1st place – Swan Barn - Jane Puttock

A clever and very effective reversal of the way that we usually see the countryside. The intriguing but easily overlooked miniature world of nature has taken precedence over the full-sized world within which it is found while at the same time presenting us with sufficient information to understand what this environment was. 2nd place – Marley – Hana Gamlin

2nd place, junior – Punchbowl - Louise Shanks

Congratulations for shooting to the “green” brief of the competition, finding a simple but effective composition with none of the distractions that might have been present in a wider view.

3rd place, junior – Black Down – Jacob Ormesher

This is a brave attempt to capture a colourful sunset, interesting tree silhouettes and strong but dark foreground detail.
